Of the cities you've traveled to in Canada, which is your favourite? |
I can't decide between Ottawa and Gatineau. Peterborough is quite nice. I like Ontario. :P Although other provinces are nice too, like Halifax in Nova Scotia, etc.
And you? |

My favourite city was Banff. It essentially has one main street and you can walk from one end of town to the other in about 30 minutes, but the quaint little tourist town has a lot going for it. Loads of biking and hiking trails just outside the city limits. I woke up one morning to find an elk on the front lawn of the motel I was staying at. Not something you see on a regular basis in downtown Montreal, Vancouver or Calgary. And the people were very friendly and helpful.
Montreal is an exciting city and gets even more so after dark in the downtown core. They are often called the party city of Canada.
I've been to Ottawa a few times, and although it has some nice museums and interesting buildings, I found the people less friendly and the activities in the city seemed too lowkey and almost boring (Sorry Ottawans!). Although it was a bit more up-tempo and interesting when I went there on Canada Day and they had concerts and the festivities at the parliament buildings.
I guess a lot has to do with why you are going to a city and who you know there. Some people were indicating they did not enjoy Calgary, but I liked it there mainly because I know people who live there who could show me around. |

The Eastern coastline of Nova Scotia is breathtaking, as well as Halifax. Best to come between may and october though for better weather. |

Whistler is one of the most beautiful places anywhere! The mountains are breathtaking and the town is great. I lived in Alberta for awhile and Banff just doesn't compare to Whistler. |

You don't have to decide between Ottawa and Gatineau. Only the river sets them apart!
As a Montrealer who has lived in Toronto, I can tell you that my favorite place is...
Quebec City! |

It's not the prettiest but I still like Hamilton the best...OSKEE WEE WEE !!!!..it's the most down to earth place I've ever been to in Canada, I haven't been to the maritimes but I hear the people are great and beautiful scenery...I just like regular folks...Calgary has no character, TO is too busy, Victoria is too stuck up, Vancouver is too rainy, Montreal is too French, Winterpeg is too cold...Regina sounds too much like vagina, Ottawa LOL... |

Montreal is the best city in Canada, hands down. The people and "scene" in Halifax are great, and Vancouver is beautiful ( but it's full of addicts). Toronto just sucks, no offense to any Torontonians.
I live in Calgary, which is also a great city. It's not too far from Banff or Canmore which is great. |
