Parking ticket received in Ottawa, Ontario?

I received a parking ticket form Ottawa, but my car is registered in Quebec province, so my drivers license, plate, everything is from Quebec, do I have to pay the ticket if i got it in a different province? Does anyone know what would happen if I don't pay?
My friend is also from Quebec, and he got a parking ticket while he was in Toronto, he called them, and they told him not to worry about it. I don't know if thats my case....
Can anyone help me with the answers?
I just want to make sure before I pay the ticket.
Thanks

Additional Details
Would they tow my car if i have unpaid parking ticket?

No they can't do anything to you except send you silly letters

In Ontario all they can do to you is prevent you from getting renewal stickers for your car, or even suspend your Ontario license (ultimately) but you being in from Quebec they will only send you ridiculous letters threatening you with collections.

Apparently nothing will happen to you. I think they'll find you, eventually. If you return to Ottawa and get stopped by the police for something it will create problems for you. I also found this on a web page.
"If a Canadians applies for a loan, however, the unpaid parking ticket shows up on their record and they must pay the fees due to Ottawa's agreement with collection agencies. However, unless a violator applies for a loan, it is possible to get by without ever paying their parking fee."

Like I said it will catch up to you and you'll have to pay fines along with the ticket.
Just pay it and be done with it! You can pay online or through the mail. You have 15 days to pay it.

Some small towns have the policy of not collecting fines from tourists so they don't write the tickets. It's their way of encouraging tourists.

But that police officer knew you were from Quebec when he wrote the ticket and he knew it could be collected.

Pay it before they start adding interest. If they have to find you, it will only cost more.

I live in Ontario, received a ticket in Rouyn-Norranda, Quebec............

They found me..........
Pay it. Then you never have to worry about it again.

Z
Pay the ticket, okay? Stop listening to those bozos who tell you how you can get out of it.

Sawbuck
Friend of mine tried "not-paying" and ended up being denied his licence renewal, having to pay over $2000 in outstanding tickets, and a $5000 fine. Better you should just pay the $25 or whatever it was. That is, unless you are one of those people who have more money than brains.

Dangermanmi6
Ontario & Quebec have a reciprocal agreements so if you are a bad enough cat they'll get you, you may not be able to get your sticker for your plates until you pay up.

In the old days you could just say f%$k it and toss the ticket but not any more big brother is watching. Just pay the darn thing and don't worry.
