What is the average time it takes to clear Border Inspection after an international arrival at Pearson Intl Airport? I will be arriving in the early evening on a Thursday.

I meant from the time I get off the plane, stand in line, go thru customs,get my bags and I walk out the door. I need to tell my ride when I will be ready. How long does the whole process take? |

You will get your luggage before you go through customs and this can take some time depending on how many flights are deboarding at the same time. With everything total I have spent from 30minutes to 1 1/2 hrs depending on the time of year. Give yourself atleast an hour. |

it depends how many planes are landing as to how many passengers are trying to get through customs,and how long your luggage takes to get on the carousel

I always find that the longest wait is standing at the baggage carousel. Customs, I have found to be relatively quick. But as others have mentioned, there are a lot of variables including how many other planes have landed before yours and how far away from the customs and baggage areas your plane's gate is. For some, it can be quite a trek.
I would guess that my average time (for international flights) from deplaning to out the door with bags in hand would be about 40 minutes. I would guess the quickest ever, about 25 minutes and the slowest, about 55 minutes.
There are play phones in the area by the baggage carousels ($.50 now). We usually just call our ride from there to update them on our progress. |

It shouldnt take no more than 45 minutes tops! It all depends on how many other flights are arriving the same time as yours. |

From all the times I've been through Toronto Pearson International Airport, I have never gotten out before an hour has passed. You are arriving when the peak season is really jumping at Pearson and the customs will be very BUSY...
The custom staff there can be very slow ( I've seen people take 10 minutes at Customs) and the Baggage Claim is a party gone out of control (like you see on CSI: Miami)
Anyways I wish you good luck at Pearson

you may need to check the"immigration inspection" about 5-10 minutes
also if you transit to canada, you have to claim your baggage, haul it , being inspected again another half hour
