To the end of the forest ... the same distance the same dog could walk anywhere else. In a Canadian forest maybe not as far if it is winter.

I suppose that would depend on a few factors:
1) The Breed and Health of the dog
2) The conditions of the forest (weather, Terrain )
and lastly how familiar is the dog with walking long distances, etc.

Half way. then he is walking out. on the other hand, I have never seen one go in a straight line...
But the can go the rest of their life. there is plenty of food and water.
