I live in BC but only been to alberta My dream-is to cross Canada by train

Being the second largest country in the world, it's extremely unlikely that most Canadians have seen their country from coast to coase. I've seen some of Alberta, much of Ontario and BC and a little bit of Yukon and Quebec. I've never been to the prairies, maritimes or the "real" Great White North, but would love to see them all someday.

I've been to BC, NWT, Alberta, Sask, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia. I plan on getting to the Yukon later next year. Maybe in a few more years I'll make if back to the East coast and see the rest.

Planning a trip to 'the Rock' sometime in the future. Not sure if I'll ever get to the northern territories. But I am young yet. Maybe when I am retired.

I am really surprised at how few people have answered in the affirmative. And I guess I am luckier than I thought. I went from Montreal to Edmonton by train in 1963 - $50.00 first class by CN. Food and sleeper were included and so was a transfer to CP to go from Edmonton to Banff. At the end of that summer I went to Vancouver by car. Drove back and forth several times between Vancouver and Montreal over the years (in those days gas was sold by the gallon and at it's height it was 0.35 per gallon. Did it once using my thumb - before all the wackos started raping and killing hitch hikers. In 1968 I drove to Halifax /Dartmouth for something to do and stayed for a couple of years. Got over to Newfoundland for a holiday and pretty well drove the entire Maritimes every chance I could. In 1970 I went back out west with some of the kids I was in college with. When they came back east , I stayed and made Calgary home for most of the next 30 years though I went to Northern California for a year in the 90's. In 2000 I went to South Africa for 3 years and came back to Ottawa where I am presently.

It is such a great country to see - in fact it is a great world to see - I have managed most of Europe and have done a lot of UK travelling. I feel bad that kids today can't hitch to the next place because of the wackos. I feel bad that the price of gas has made travel so out of reach for so many, myself included now. My first brand new car cost me $2,000.00 - probably less than the down payment on one today. I was never a rich person - my father was a farmer in Quebec and a war vet - but I always worked at decent jobs.

The travelling did cost me things - like I was never a party person or a clothes horse. Never got married - that could wait until I had seen the world but it is still waiting LOL and I am getting a bit old for that now anyway. I don't regret a minute of it! Would do it again and if the opportunity to see more comes my way again, it is A Bientot for now.

I hope someone works on those compressed air cars that I saw on You tube so that today's young folks can just drive off into the sunset when they want without ending up in a poor house.

lol, to whoever said "most canadians can't afford the gas prices or hotels etc." uhh.. what are you talking about? we travel all the time, mostly by plane... we stay in hotels and sight see etc. I don't really know what your talking about.. I was just in the states and the gas prices are pretty much the same everywhere... I suppose that means most americans can't afford the hotels, gas prices etc, either... right? ;)

I have been in every province except Newfoundland (I will get there one day). I have been in the NWT but not the Yukon (and will get there too). I have lived in 4 different provinces. (BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario).

My hubby has had the pleasure of living in every province while growing up, he was a military brat. I have only had the pleasure of visiting. I still have yet to see Nunavut and the NWT.

In the 10 years I lived in Canada I never traveled out of Ontario, most of my friends haven't been much further.

I've seen them all except the Atlantic provinces. Oddly, I've been to the Atlantic ocean when I visited Charleston, South Carolina! In answer to your question, obviously the answer would be no. Canada is the largest country in land area after Russia. It's a huge country and not too many people want to visit the three Territories. They are way up north and the weather doesn't suit many people's tastes. I was born in southern Ontario and I'm living on the west coast of Canada - Vancouver Island, about 2 hours from the Pacific Coast.

No. The average Canadian can't afford the gas! Or the flights and hotel accommodations! But wouldn't it be great if we could see it all?...sigh! :)

Probably not, this country is huge - we are the second biggest country in the world and the province of Ontario is bigger than all Europe!

England could fit into the Great Lakes, so seeing all of Canada would be wonderful, but would take a lot of time and be very expensive!
