So by that I'm assuming things invented by Canadians?

Medical Penicilin, the Zipper (haha of course) , the Telephone, and the beloved "stubby" beer bottle no longer in use. Just google this, I"m sure you'll find hundreds of inventions.

Products associated with place in Canada?
Really depends on the region in question. Southern Ontario is the auto-belt (completely integrated with that of Michigan). Petroleum products in Alberta where I'm from... I mean manufacturing locations produce hundreds of things right?

If you're trying to make an association "Canada is to -----" what "Switzerland is to watches", it would be very hard becuase it's a very diverse country and it's geographically enormous. So you'd probably be better off associating regions... kind of like "Alberta is to oil and beef" like "Wisconsin is to cheese".

It's just as difficult to place a product on the place heritage of Canada as it would be to do so to the United States.

It's as varied as the products from the US, because of its huge size and diverse geography. The forest products industry is big. Canada supplies an immense amount of building materials and wood pulp for paper. Most of the newsprint in N. America is from Canada. There is a lot of mining of many minerals.

Energy is a major resource of Canada. There are large oil and natural gas reserves, but the major one is hydroelectric power. Almost all of Canada's electricity is generated by hydroelectric facilities on its rivers. Canadians usually refer to electric utilities as "hydro" because it is hydroelectricity. Much of their excess energy is sold to neighboring US states.
