Sorry about how you feel about white people. You sound pretty racist too. I am white and in no way support the things you say we do.

You obviously have never worked in Canada. By LAW all Canadians, whether your black, white, asian, hispanic, middle eastern have to be paid the same. If you and I both work in a factory we both get paid 18.50 an hour. If we both work in a pizza parlour we both get paid 8.00 an hour. I work with lots of immigrants and I love to meet more. They are very friendly and I love to hear their stories about their homelands. Any people from any country show ignorance.

About your expensive land theory too. It's expensive for me too! I can't afford a house with all the dumb taxes and outrageous prices. I am stuck renting. I am a descendant of French, Irish, Scottish, Dutch and Jewish heritage and I feel really bad about any "white" Canadian that treated you with ignorance.

I'm happy and grateful about Canada Day because I live in a country where my baby will live to see the age of one year, I have freedom to make choices for myself and that I can try to help those that are less fortunate. Not all Canadians are bad. Try to give each person a chance on their own and not stereotype us as all bad and ignorant because the hand full you knew were mean. It'd be like me saying all Middle Eastern people treat their women horribly. Some people will believe the stereotype, but some will also know that women are treated the way they are there to be respected with dignity and that most men love their wives and daughters, just as we do here. Just because we don't see eye to eye does not mean that we are all blind.

I really like your art work! It's very moving. I hope you will reconsider what you think of Canada. Vancouver is a great city too!

Have you ever been to Canada? Your description doesn't sound like the Canada that I know. I have been to over a dozen other countries, and have not yet found one that is nearly as tolerant as Canada.
Happy Canada Day!
(I just read your profile - can I suggest evaluating a country on a bit more than just cartooning license rates in one city??)

You are having yourself on! Canada is one of the most tolerant societies in the world, however, elements of racism do exist in Canadian society. Yet, in any other country you care to name there are racists. That's simple genetics.

I totally disagree to everything you said especially about the immigrant. I am an immigrant and have lived here for 3 years. When we moved here, Canadian Embassy from my country didn't sugar coat things about my chances here in Canada. I'm a licensed engineer back home and it's just that it's regulated here in Canada, which means I can't just bring my license back home and hope that I'll be treated the same way here. These are the choices that people have to make. Is it the best? Maybe no, but it's definitely better compared to where I came from. I'm not bragging but after 2 years of hard work I am now with a good company that pays everybody the same rate, irregardless of your color or race.

Hey Haji! Long time no hear!

For those who are not aware, "stop canada" is just one of many names this fellow has selected to forward his personal opinions of living in Canada. As usual, I will try to put the record straight, so here are my points.

Racism
======
Canada is by no means an angelic society. We have our bigots and racists just like any other country. However, the way my Iranian friend here makes it out to be, we are all wearing white sheets and burning crosses. That is simply not true.

If you are an immigrant coming to Canada, you are welcomed here by all accept a few bad eggs, as long as you are willing to work as hard as the rest of us or you are self-sufficient.

Salaries
=======
When you work in Canada, you will be guaranteed a minimum wage (currently around $8 per hour) as long as you are working for a company legally, and not what is known as "under the table".

Natives
======
The Canadian aboriginal people made agreements with the white settlers who came here in the 1600s and 1700s. History is aware of all of the suffering of these people and their land claims are still in the courts to this day. Canada is no different in this respect than USA who fought or resettled various tribes like the Sioux, Cree, and Comanches. This has also occurred in other countries...Australia, India, South Africa, for example.

Not to dishonour these fine people, but we should be living in the present and not bring up issues that have nothing to do with today's immigrants. I am sure that wherever Haji's home is may have been a hunting ground for a Chinook tribesman ages ago. Should he give it back and return to Iran?

Selfishness
=========
Canada in general has always tried to provide food and shelter not only to its own citizens but also as part of our foreign policy.

As for the individual Canadian, I cannot speak for everyone, but here at my work we have people sponsoring African children, the employees organize a fundraising and food drive for the local community, and I personally give each year to Cancer research, my local hospital, as well as various other charities.

So my comments from some of the "stop canada" past soap-box rantings still stands...If you put half as much time into positive efforts to try and get a job and earn a living in Canada as you do making negative comments on various websites about us, you could probably be a very successful artist here.

Lol I remeber answerinf one of your questions ...You are upset because you did not get accpeted to Canada ...ANd that's why you are calling it a racist country . We do not have segregated societies like the USA.ANd let me explain because many people I trealized on here do not know what segregated neighbourhoods mena . It means a neighbourhood that only whites can live or blacks ...lol
I would suggest to anyone answering this question to read all your others...Do you really think this will help you get into Canada ! Try America and see if they would like a person who thinks he should get into their country without rhyme or reason

lemonloops
dudeeee c'mon...
canada is amazing.
