There are a lot of nice places on Pembina Hwy or just off of it in the southern part. (by U of M) They are on the 60 or 62 bus stops and there is a Safeway, gym, electronics etc. St. Vital Mall is close and so is Fort Richmond mall. If you do need to go elsewhere, most buses come through the U of M for transfers as well.
Streets to look for are Pembina Hwy, Chancellor, Markam, Baylor, Adamar, Mapleridge etc |

Sorry but I don't agree with any of the above answers. If you want to be close to lot's of transit options or close to walk to lots of places then look in the Osborne Village area or the area between Broadway and Assiniboine Ave. From either of these areas you can walk to downtown, the Forks, numerous restaurants, bars, groceries, the MTS Centre for concerts or sporting events.
You can also find cheaper apartments in these areas if cost is a factor while the other areas mentioned are going to be more expensive. And at the same time if cost is not a factor there are some very pricey and nice apartments in that area.
Email me if you are not familiar at all with Winnipeg and need a map to know more. |

To the above, I believe the bulk of those apartments are right there on Grant ave. There are also some further down on Taylor. There are a few really big ones on Corydon as well. In case you're not interested in southern Winnipeg ;) there are apartment complexes further down Pembina by the U of M that are nicely situated. |

in southdale there is an apartment complex called willowlake gardens, the apartments are retivelay comfortable and there is a bus route going right past it. its a pretty safe area, and its close to st. vital mall so you have that. and theres a safeway like 5 minutes away. |
