Romantic Hotels in Edmonton?

My husband and I are quickly approaching our 6 month anniversary. Since we didn't get to do the honeymoon thing, I thought it'd be a good reason to celebrate, maybe spend a night at a nice hotel.

We're kind of limited because we don't have a car. Does anyone have suggestions for hotels? Or anything else that we could do to celebrate?

Romance comes with a price - in the hundreds. A few of the top places are Hotel MacDonald - historic and very romantic. Who wouldn't want to stay in a "castle" complete with a reputed "ghost" - and the view is fantastic.

Union Bank Inn - wonderful historic rooms with fireplaces, cookies on your pillow and the most wonderful bedding. Their restaurant is the ultimate in dining.

The Sutton Place Hotel and suites while definitely newer has romantic pkgs including a excellent dinner and couples spa treatments at Eveline Charles Salon and Spa.(you don't even have to go outdoors to get to it)

So where do you go from here? I willing to bet that this weekend will have to suit your romantic soul rather than your husbands because he's likely to be happy wherever you are. Let's take a look at Bed and Breakfasts in Edmonton.
I did a check of them a came up with this Romantic one:

The McLellan House Bed and Breakfast ($120 -$150) with a 4.5 *Star rating in a Turn of the Century Victorian House on 84 Ave by the U of A - walk to White Ave and play tourist.
11135 - 84 Ave
Edmonton, AB T6G 0V9
Toll Free Reservations Line: 1-800-433-8717
Phone: (780) 433-8707
http://www.bbedmonton.com/mclellan

There of course are lots of other Bed and Breakfasts in Edmonton but I only chose the one that "fit" the bill of romance and things to do.

If you're looking to take him out of the ultimate romantic dinner then may I suggest Edmonton's most romantic restaurant:

The Treperie
If you can find someone with a SUTP coupon book ask them for the coupon called a "A Toast To You" for $50 for Two you can enjoy a deluxe dinner for two.

Actually if you can convince someone to let you coupon hunt through it or the Entertainment Book you'll find lots of coupons to save you money and you can put together a romantic getaway at anyone of the hotels and resorts listed in them.

Have an awesome dinner somewhere romantic, stay at a historic bed and breakfast, play tourist and go back to the room for a Jacuzzi and some bubbly. Get to a romantic dinner, stay at the Sutton Place Hotel and indulge in a spa the next day. Either of these and you've got the Ultimate Romantic Celebration.

Hope these suggestion are of help.

Good Luck and Congratulations.

You might want to check out the Fantasy Land Hotel, they got some nice themed rooms, some very romantic. You could then go the the Fantasy Land Hotel Resautrant, or maybe go to one of the reasutrants on Buron Street.

I would recommend the Hotel Macdonald or the Crowne Plaza. They are both in downtown Edmonton and the Crowne Plaza has a posh rotating restaurant at the very top of the building which enables you to overlook the river valley as well as the whole city. The Hotel Macdonald is a historic buiding and the Queen of England stayed there about 2 years ago when she visited Edmonton. :)

You might want to try the hotel at the West Edmonton Mall. It has theme rooms and should be of interest to most everyone. As well, with the indoor amusement park right in the mall there will be no need to do much driving in the city.
