Should I go to Toronto or Ottawa for Canada Day 2008?

So I have the option of being in Toronto or Ottawa on Canada Day 2008. My gut reaction was to pick Ottawa but after seeing the events list for the nations capital I'm not sure what the draw is other than being in Ottawa on Canada Day. Does Toronto's festivities rival Ottawa? Is the party going to be better in T.O?

If I had the option of being in Ottawa for Canada Day that is definitely where I would be!!

I would rather go to Ottawa for Canada Day. It is the nation's capital and I'm sure there will be tons of parties going on that aren't listed on the memo. I would choose Ottawa but then again, its your call. Plus if you are in Ottawa then you can go to Montreal and Montreal is awesome!

most people in Toronto
will be out of town at their cottages on Canada day
the only thing going on would be some socialist community picnics sponsored by local governments
they'll be some fireworks at Ontario place
and they'll be giiiving away wieners on a bun at Queens park
does this sound like anything you want to see
other than that
all the bums will be out on the sidewalks panhandling for money
think about it
do you really want to come to Toronto
this city blows
the politicians destroyed it
my advice would be to stay away
go spend your money elsewhere

I've never been in Toronto for Canada but I lived in Ottawa for many years. The Canada Day celebrations on Parliament Hill are awesome. The only down side is everything that is said is said in both "official" languages. Kind of sucks if you don't speak that other language.
