My sister moved to British Columbia last summer, has lived in Chilliwack, Hope, then Vancouver where she is now. It's up to you if you want to move to Toronto -- and whoever said it's a dump compared to Vancouver, that's not nice. Also, another guy saying it is dirty, expensive and so on, well, obviously, you haven't been everywhere, so shut your mouth, please. We all have some bad parts everywhere. I guess ask your boss/supervisor if there are any stores for you in Toronto or at least a similiar job, hope this helps.
We have a lot of malls -- Toronto Eaton Centre, Yorkdale, Scarborough Town Centre, and so on. I can be your new friend. :)
And sorry to hear about the break up with your boyfriend. |

It's a great city. My wife (from Thunder Bay) never thought she'd like it, but she loves it. Make sure you live downtown -- there's so much to do. If you move to the suburbs, you'll think it sucks. Homes/condos are expensive, but not nearly as bad as Van. Like all big cities, in the end it is what you make of it. Get active and you'll never want to leave. No mountains, though. |

I love some of the stupidity of people in the U.S. all of Canada is bilingual. Now to your question
Toronto is a wonderful place to live. Why don't you ask your superior if they have a branch in Toronto or surrounding areas that you can transfer to. There are quite a few stores in Toronto and surrounding areas if you can't transfer and they are always looking for help. It is hard to be lonely in a great friendly city like Toronto and it is easy to meet people.
Good luck |

T.O. is a dump compared to Van. Why would you want to go from mountains and sea, to concrete jungle, dirty lake and slush? |

Hello from Toronto!! Ok , what are all these people talking about Toronto with smog?? Do you have any idea what other cities are like with smog compared to Toronto?? Try Europe then come and talk to me or better yet try New York with the smog!! Toronto is a very vibrant city!! LOTS of action!! Lots to do. You like clubs then your in for a Hugh treat. You like fancy restaurants, Pubs, live entertainment. We have it all. Just met this guy here in Toronto last week he says he was from Vancouver. He said to me that there is no way that Vancouver can compare to the vibrant city of Toronto. He smiled at me and said to much action going on here in Toronto!!
You will LOVE IT HERE!!
Get ready for all the hottiees!! LOL |

No Toronto is not bilingual - that is Ottawa and Montreal. Secondly, Toronto is multicultral so that should please you. Thirdly, Toronto's crime rate is at a confusing stage. I believe this past day the crime is slightly low. But, if you want to come see lots of homeless people, dirty streets, but beautiful builidings by all means come. But do not look forward to too much affordable house/apartment prices.- they are rare. |

I agree with Gent of Style - Toronto is to be avoided like the Plague.
I think you would do well in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It would be a complete change of scenery - yet you would be close to the Ocean.
The other alternative would be to visit the US Consul and get a Visa to work in San Diego, California or San Francisco. |

Toronto moves faster than Vancouver. Be prepared for a faster pace. You will love it!There is always something to do and you will meet many people. We are not the stuck up meanies that the west makes us out to be. Join a gym or a club. You will also start hanging out with people you work with. you will also be constanly entertained by the street performers. Here you can see a guy that I think is funny that has a new site: (sorry for the plug but he is so funny! I see him every day) http://www.torontozanta.ca/ |

Why Toronto? It's dirty, expensive and crowded. There are alot of other places that might be better suited for you. Places that are closer to Vancouver and your friends. How about Banff or Kelowna. Both beautiful places, both within relatively easy driving distance from Vancouver. Banff is experiencing a HUGE worker shortage right now so you'd most likely have no trouble finding a position and pay rate close to, or better then what you have currently. |

I have lived all over Canada.Toronto is so big compared to Van.I am in ALBERTA now and I find the opportunity here in credible.I arrived here with $14000 dollars and now have a net worth of 600,000$$ after 4 years With the opportunities in real estate available here as opposed to Toronto for me the choice is a no brainer. The west is the best.I lived in Toronto too |
