Should canada change is flag back? |
I think canada should change the flag back to the union jack because the french made us change it and the french are the ones who would not let the new flag have anything to do with the uk but in the 1700's the french are the ones that stared to use the maple leaf so i think it should be changed????????/ |

Hardly a question but if there are enough Canadians of the same mind as you perhaps you can get some sort of a movement started.
I'm from the US so I really don't have a dog in this fight but on pure aesthetics I prefer the Maple Leaf myself. And besides when I took maple leaves to my friend on one of Canada's national holidays he was really nice to me all day, not to mention he gave me a lapel pin. He was military stationed here. |

You re wrong, French-Canadians did not "make us" change. There were plenty of open-minded Canadians who did not see the purpose of having Britain's Union Jack in the corner of our flag. |

We have had many nationalities settling in Canada for generations (and still do today) and I don't believe we should revert back to the Union Jack since it puts the Brits up on a pedestal.

If the French Canadians had designed our flag, it would have had the Fleur-de-Lis on it, not a maple leaf. Don't take my word for it, go look up the Quebec flag and see for yourself.
Do you want to go back under British rule? I come from a long line of Loyalists, but I sure wouldn't want to give up my distinctly Canadian identity for the sake of having a flag that's red white and blue. |
