I agree with most of the previous posters. Definitely Toronto is more of a market for entrepreneurship. It is a booming city, with lots of possibilities, very multicultural, business oriented. |

It depends on your future plans and endeavours. Montreal is very modern and forward thinking. It has a definate European flair. Compared to Toronto, I think it is much more metropolitan as far as fashion, food, and nightlife. I find Quebecois just friendly and accepting and they have a true lust for life. Montreal has a large english speaking population, but you need to understand that Quebec language laws will contrain how you do your business a little bit.
Toronto is, to some degree, where the money is. It's a little more cold and definately "businessy" in comparison. There's food and nightlife as well, don't get me wrong. Toronto is a great city, and location wise to the financial ties, you can't beat it. It's a great city with lots of business exposure and its nearby areas are growing like crazy. Now, the way that the Ontario economy is going, again, depending on what your entrepenurial plans are, Quebec may be where you want to be.
Without knowing your direction, it's hard to say where would be better. They are both really great cities with a little bit different thing that each offers. |

Rule of thumb for Canada: Work in Toronto, live in Montreal.
Seriously. If you want to make money, you go where the money is and that's Toronto. If you want to live, go where the people are alive and know how to have a good time in Montreal. |

You must be able to speak some French if you want to live/work in Montreal.
Toronto is a better place to make money though. There's just a lot more options here. |
