Join the US? No. We are our own country and proud of it. |

I luv this country, and why would we join the US anyways??? we are our own INDEPENDANT country. This isn't 1800's, so there is no reason for us to join america. Most of us Canadian's have NOTHING against america, their just our neighbours. Canada is a very strong country, and the chances of us joining another country is very rare. |

Join America? HELL NO. I love Canadians. Besides Canada is loved whereas America is hated. I've heard way too many stories of Americans posing as Canadians when traveling. |

Contrary to many beliefs, Canada is almost exactly like America, only bigger. We may not have as big a population, but many people are moving to Canada instead of the States for that reason. I love Canada. |

Big LOL. No, Canada should not join the US. Our way of life is much better and more relaxed. Why on earth would we want to ruin a good thing? The US is the US and Canada is Canada - we are each our own place and our own people, each with good points and not so good points, but we live side by side in peaceful camaraderie, and separateness. |

why would we want to join the States?? We do just fine on our own and are more well liked as a country than the US. We have better healthcare, up until last year we had a better PM, we have a better reputation, and we're able to run ourselves just fine without joining the US. They have their way of doing things and we have ours. To each their own. |

As if we proud Canadians want to be involved with Americans.. Would that mean we have to tolerate Bush? Bullshit.. No one wants to join the US in Canada, because if any single person did want to, they would just pick up and move there themselves. We're independant, have a fairly good education system, great health care system [ no one mentioned the speed .. ], and the people here are just lovely! We're a British Commonwealth country, whereas the US is not.. We're just better. I've found A LOT of Americans to be ignorant, asking if we all live in igloos etc.. Some people are so thick.. Canada is beautiful, and is filled with many things to see..
Half of this made no sense, but pretty much my answer is that NO, we should NOT join America, because we're liked all over, whereas the US is not. =]
Example ; I'm currently in the UK. I had someone be very ignorant to me when I was asking them a simple question.. They eventually asked me if I was American, and replied that No, I was Canadian. I noticed a BIG difference in the way that they spoke to me after that. |

Perhaps a better question is: why does anybody have to love/hate or tolerate a country? Seems to me that this is core cause of a lot of international problems.
Perhaps we should work on concepts such as: "interact", "understand", "negotiate", "appreciate" before we start identifying the "other" as necessarily problematic. |
