The truth is, being a Canadian myself living outside Canada, I can safely say that most immigrants are disillusioned by a better life in Canada. For one, there are limited jobs available for highly educated graduates and this is really not an understatement. Our local graduates dont necessarily get the best of jobs, let alone immigrants holding foreign credentials. Secondly, even if you do manage to get a job, our taxes are definitely not one of the lowest and you are unlikely to save anything apart from maybe your house which might be free in like 30 years or so. People forget that Canada is not the United States and the truth is most of our people lie about education being a way for success in Canada. The truth is the demand for blue-collar workers in Canada far outstrips that of white-collar workers and a university degree is definitely not any kind of guarantee for a well paying job. However, I am happy and proud to be a Canadian and will never ever give up my citizenship for anything else. |

It depends on what you are interested in. Obviously, there is nothing here of interest to you. Sorry to see you leave. Happy New Year. |

One thing I find interesting about Canada is the fact that our standards of public education (especially in spelling and grammar) far outstrip that of our american neighbours...
Canada is amazing when you consider the tenacity of the inhabitants who brave ridiculous weather conditions for a good portion of the year in order to enjoy such benefits as socialized health care, two official languages and the best comedians and dancers in the world.
However, you've clearly made up your mind. Have a nice trip! |

Nice to meet you too. Presumably you didn't like the last place either.
Never mind, you'll get used to it. |

Depends which part of Canada you are living in. Personally, I think the only good places to live in are Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto. There's actually lots of things to do in these cities year round. I'm from Vancouver and I go to many nice places to just hang out. In the winter, I snowboard and play indoor sports at several rec. centres. In the spring and summer, you can do lots at stanley park, fireworks competition, granville island, kitsilano and english bay beaches, bike/roller blade along stanely park, go to Vancouver island, go camping in the interior, go to Whistler. You also have access to the Washington state. It's only 2hrs from Vancouver. Vancouver is a rare city where you have beaches and moutains. Toronto and Montreal are similar. There are many things to do, you just have explore a little more. |

I absolutely love my commute to work. Yes, my commute to work. I have the most magnificent view of the Rockies. You can see them wrap more than halfway around your view. I see the awesome prairie with wheat, and canola growing. I see cattle grazing. Lots of old farm houses, churches, and schoolhouses. I love to see all the wind mills.
My neighbours and co-workers are the most friendliest and kind people you could ever meet. I love to go to work to be with these people. My neighbours always help me out when I need them. That too is amazing.
Canada is also a free country. There is one guy at work. He lost his leg in the war, fighting for my freedom. To me that is amazing. He didn't know me, and he did that for me. That's awesome.
If you think Canada is so terrible, you should be ashamed. Then move on out and leave room for some amazing people to come instead. |

On the other hand, nobody goes psychotic over a political leader's birth certificate, race, religion, whatever. Interesting is what you make it, so if Canada is not interesting, then make it so. Are we less interesting than the Middle East, all the crime sites in USA, avalanches, floods and whatever else of South America. If they've got it out there, then we have it here. You just have to look. |
