Lol, the previous poster has their seasons mixed up. I'm afraid you won't be seeing any maple syrup being boiled at a sugar bush. It's done in spring, not the fall.
Toronto Islands tour. Head down to Queen's Quay and catch a harbour tour on a tall ship. The Toronto Science Centre is an awsome intteractive place. Go nuts for a day in the Eaton Centre. Get a visitor's fishing licence and head over to Port Credit and bag a salmon. Spend part of the day at the Docks Entertainment Complex. There's always something going on downtown for free. Check in the freebie papers in the subway stations.

Go to see how maple syrup is made (the old natural way) and visit some of the art museums, and Royal Ontario Museum. Visit the art museum outside the city with the Group of Seven paintings. You'll also see the maple syrup made there.
