Many seemingly American products are tweaked for the Canadian market. Mountain Dew has no caffeine here, for example. (Though there's now a Mountain Dew "energy" drink that does...) Canadian cigarettes are quite different from American ones, even those sold under the same brand name.

The name "Canada" came from a misinterpretation of the Mete word, "Kainada" which means village. The first settlers to the the country heard the natives calling them to their village and they assumed they were telling them the name of the land. In fact, native cultures don't name countries or cities or anything as they believe a name represent possession and no one can posses the an area of land.
