Though I was born in America, I learned that I was conceived in Canada. Does that make me Canadian? |
I was born in the U.S.A back in 1978 (Madison Heights, Michigan). However, my mother told me just recently that before I was born, I was conceived in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Just out of curiousity, I was just wondering if I'm also Canadian as well. |

If you were conceived in a car it wouldn't make you a Buick would it? It is where you were actually born that determines what country you are a citizen of. |

You are American. You would only be Canadian if you were born there. |

No. To quote a former Prime Minister. The government has no place in the bedrooms of the nation. |

No, it is where you are born. |

Although your parents may have gotten frisky in Canada, it is where you are born that makes you the nationality that you are. If you were born in Michigan, then that is what is on your birth certificate, and that would make you American.
You can of course say that Canadians made your parents want to conceive, so thank a Canadian next time you see one. ;-)
(rofl - Tracy, luv'd the Buick thing...) |
