Olympic facilities, china town, mountains, hot springs, gondola ride, whale watching, rock climbing, go to museums, they probably have lots of really cool native things there, there's a lot of Aboriginals in BC.

I don't know where you are from, if you're American or from another part of Canada, but Vancouver is having some serious gang issues so be careful where you go. Keep your eyes and ears open and stay out of trouble. Don't get shot.

I Live in vancouver, what i would suggest is
-Going to science world (sounds lame but it's REALLY COOL)
-Going to the aquarium
-Hiking
-Bowling
-Going to metro town (it's in burnaby, close to vancouver. BTW it's a awesome mall)
-swimming
-skating
-skiing/ snow boarding (if theres snow on the mountains)
-shopping
Gandville island (not really an island but it has restaurants/ Entertainment stuff
-checking out the movies
-biking

Ps watch out for downtown Hastings street, it's the worst street in vancouver.

Hope this helps!

visit http://www.hellobc.com and go to Vancouver (Lower Mainland) region;

In summer suggest:

- Grouse Mountain visit (http://www.grousemountain.com

- Capilino Suspension Bridge

- Stanley Park

- Shopping: stroll down Robson Street and Pacific Centre Mall downtown.

Vancouver has beaches, perhaps not as beautiful as the caribbean, but for the Canadian West Coast, they are nice.
There is a beach called: Wreck Beach which is the only official legal nudist/clothing optional beach in Canada. On a hot weekend, there can be up to 10,000 people on that beach (about 60% nude, 20% topless and the rest bathing suits). It is perfectly safe and a single woman would be safer there than on a clothed beach. Why? because there is a culture there that looks out for weirdos and perverts . . the locals police the beach and drive them away.

If you like to party, there is always a party down there after dark.
The daytime crowd are families, singles, couples and lots of university students studying. The night crowd are party animals and may not be as safe as the daytime. There is nothing like laying nude on the beach, watching the sun go down and listen to the locals play the bongo drums and singing.
Go to this website and read more about it.

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy Vancouver. Our beaches are spectacular, so plan on spending some time on the sand! Granville Island and Stanley Park are must-sees.

Regarding gang shootings.. yes, Vancouver has had a bad time the last few weeks with an unusallu high number ( for us) of shootings. But remember, its gansters shooting each other... not tourists being shot. If you arent involved in gang activity, youre as safe ( or safer) here than in any large city in North America.

Hope you have a great time!
