Time to hit the road across Canada, suggestion?

my buddy owns a hauling business, he does business mostly with people in saskatchewan. He says he'll be more than happy to have me on board and just drop by some places to relax. I know it's cold as hell but is there anything to see in winter between Ontario and Saskatchewan? even BC? we're willing to go out of way just to find a good view/good restaurant and what not. Any suggestion?

The rockies are my favourite place on earth.. As you drive through them, you are surrounded by stunning views.

I went through Northern Ontario by train once and was quite taken aback by the scenery. It's not an in-your-face beauty as the mountains in BC have, but it's gorgeous.

Nomatter where you go - double-check the highway conditions. The Coquihala Highway in BC (#5 between Kamloops and Hope) has been closed for several days now due to heavy snowfall and avalanches.

Sounds like a blast! Have a great time!

The sights don't matter the first time you do it. What you will be most amazed at is how incredibly huge Canada is. You have to do it to believe it. Just go. I guarantee you won't be sorry.
I don't know the details but BC is a special place when it comes to commercial trucks from out of province. I believe that even UHaul trucks need a trip permit or something similar these days.
I've driven trucks and cars from New Brunswick to Vancouver Island and I've never had a problem anywhere. Good luck and make sure you take a camera..

I'm sorry... I can't really answer this question but I wanted to tell you I'm SO jealous. I'm trying to plan a road trip out west with my friends for the summer, doesn't look like it's going to happen until next year though : (

I don't know of anywhere you can go because I've never driven that direction before... now, if you were going to the east coast, whole different story! Why not look online or find some travel books for Saskatchewan, Manitoba, etc. They generally have all kinds of info on restaurants and tourist attractions... all that kind of stuff. Hope you find some good spots. Good luck and have fun! : )

I have been to Canada many times. Canada is a very relaxing place. You will find that Canadians are very open and kind people. I haven't been to Canada recently so I couldn't suggest a certain restaurant, I'm so sorry about that. I do realise that I should have taken more advantage of my trip and get to know the country and the people more. I do plan on going this summer, though.

My advice to you is to just have a good time in Canada. You will find that you can have a wonderful trip without having to go halfway around the world to Paris, or Rome. Take advantage of your trip and get to know the country, the people, as well as their lifestyles, and the environmental surroundings. I do hope that this has helped you. Canada is a beautiful, fun country. Have a safe, phenomanal trip, best wishes.

Come visit me. LOL.

The northern lights, thats about it really. It's largely flat and barren. I am not sure if it would be all that enjoyable in the winter. But definately an adventure. I think the only real attraction out there is some huge wooden nickel statue. That and the Creation Museum. It's a bit odd, call it the Canadian Utah. Lots of backwoods religious types and plural marriages.
