It doesn't relate to the city like say, LAX does. Is there some logic behind this? What is the reasoning please. It's driving my husband crazy (and that is a very short trip)....

I'm moving to Toronto from overseas with more than 6 pets and was wondering about the Toronto by-law limiting pets to 6 per household. How would they ever know how many pets you have if they are indoor pets??? What do they do to people's pets if they have more than 6?? Is the limit province wide, or just Toronto??
Thanks
I know they have a pet quota but its one of those laws/bi-laws that are not put into practice until some one is causing problems,
for ex, if a woman has like 15 cats, and they pee every where and poo in the back yard and she doesn't clean it, smells start up, her neighbors complain and then it may get enforced.
Toronto is a beautiful place i hope you like it =D

This is true, I am just not sure how often it would be enforced unless neighbours were having issues with your pets.
There's a link to the bylaw..just scroll down to 'Number of Animals Restricted'

I've lived in and around Toronto all my life and have never heard of that bylaw , if it's true just find a place out side of the city

The only pet limit I know of is if you have more than 3 dogs, the city/town you live in requires you to have a kennel license. There are no limits on the number of other domestic animals you can have.

i dont think Toronto has a pet limit. Just make sure that you get your cats and dogs (if thats what you have) registered with the city.

I heard some cities are bringing in a 4 pet limit. But not sure which cities. Try searching out Toronto's by-laws.

6 pets? if you have more, maybe ask for your neighbor's quota.
