Well if you want to go to a times square type party for all ages than go to Toronto, the party at city hall is Canada's largest.
On the other hand if you want to go clubbing and drinking in different bars, I think Montreal would probably be a better choice as it is a party town.

Montreal is without a doubt the more fun of the two cities, and for somebody visiting for the first time, also has the better culture.

Mtl. is SOOO much more fun than t.o. and is allot cheaper the people are much friendlier so have a good time

there are 2 not bad hotels at the corner of st. catherin and st. hubert

Do you speak French? If yes, Montreal would be fine. If not you probably should stick to Toronto.
