Towns in Ontario, Canada? |
I'm in the midst of writing a short story, and I was wondering if anyone here knew of any REALLY small, isolated, towns in Ontario?
The smaller, and lesser-known, the very better.
Thanks in advance. |

My favourite small town in Ontario is called
Paris, Ontario
though I have to say I rather like Jim B's suggestion of Swastika.
Today that name sounds evil but for thousands of years before Adolf Hitler raised his ugly arm, a swastika was a sign of good luck -
"Until the Nazis used this symbol, the swastika was used by many cultures throughout the past 3,000 years to represent life, sun, power, strength, and good luck." from

I'd mention Moose Factory, on James Bay and of course the one with the really odd name , Swastika . Yes there really is a Swastika , Ontario.
Moose factory in only acessible by train, the Ontario Northlands Railway . One train every 3 days.
Look it up on Google .

Try choosing from these: Ear Falls, Red Lake, Balmertown, Cochenour, Pickle Lake, Central Patricia, Smoky Falls. They're so isolated they don't appear in my road atlas. I've never been to any of them but I'm going one day. |
