Being a Canadian I can tell you that although we are friendly, you are going to 2 of the biggest cities in Canada. If you are outgoing, and like the night life, you should be fine to meet people at bars or clubs, but just sightseeing might get a little lonley. Safe wise you should be fine, as long as you are smart about who you associate with (dont take the candy from dirty old men). I would say though that it is always best to have a travelling companion, as it is always nice to have someone to share the experience with, as well as watch your back. Just make sure you tip when you are in the province of Quebec or you will get ignored!

Toronto is a friendly city and there a lots of people willing to hang out. Depending on what you are into you will meet people. There are lots of bars, clubs restaurants depending on what you can afford.

Montreal on the other hand is a student city as there are lots of universities in the city so you should have no problems with meeting people. I have been lucky to have lived in both cities and prefer Montreal for partying. Quebec City is not that different from Montreal so you should be ok.

Give me a heads up when you are around.

Travelling alone is always an adventure and has it's risks, but staying in hostels is a good way to meet ppl. there is a large Mexican population in Toronto and the ones that i have met are friendly and inclusive. there's a youth hostel in the Kensington market area of Toronto which has a good reputation and in the market there are some stores run by friendly Mexican ex pats. if you are outgoing and friendly you will find most ppl to treat you the same way, but be sure to be careful.

Since it is your first time I would suggest to come in the spring or best yet summer as their is more things to do ...in the winter months people that are not enjoying winter activities as skiing /snowboarding stay at home more .
Toronto and montreal have alot of clubs cafes sites to see and montreal is in the province of Quebec like Ontario is the province and Toronto a city in Ontario
You'll have fun but if you can bring a friend !! It smakes it alot more fun or do you know anyone in Canada you can visit even make friends with before hand ?

Judging by this post you have a near native command of the English language so you're not going to have any trouble communicating. One idea though might be to order a beer in Spanish when your in a bar. Most people actually know the phrase "una cerveza, por favor" but your correct pronunciation will probably turn a head or two and maybe start a conversation.
