no, just your passport

There are two sides to Niagara Falls, the American side, and the Canadian side. Just bring your passport and visit the Canadian side, there is more to do on that side (Clifton Hills is a fun place to visit), and the view is better. Also I recommend going through the border at the Rainbow Bridge (Naigara Falls) instead of the Peace Bridge (Buffalo) as the traffic is lighter crossing the border. Have fun and dress warm if you're going soon!

On the United States side no - on the Canada you will need a passport

keiko
You don't need to go to Canada. You can see them from the American side. Although, if you have a passport, I believe that you will be fine entering Canada.

pwithers12
find out at your post office before leaving ireland, just to be safe!!!!

NO !

are you aware that Niagara falls is also in new york? I suggest looking at it from the new york side to save yourself the hastle.

As long as you have a passport you are fine. Before Jan 1 you can still use birth Certificate and drivers license.

pedro_45177
see it from the american side. and you won't have to worry about it.......happy sight seeing........

I am absolutely amazed that to no Answerer before me did it occur whether you are Irish or American!

In any case you will not need a Canadian visa but if you are Irish you may need an American visa, or at least a passport stamping that you are allowed unlimited entry to the USA if you are first going into New York, then to Canada, then back to New York.

Suggestion if you are Irish (especially since winter is rapidly coming on): fly first to Toronto (the world's most multi-ethnic city at present, by the way, with as much to see and do as New York), then enter the USA via Niagara.

Not if you go between now and December 31, 2006. After that, there are rumors that you will. Still, between now and the end of the year you can go (and get back) with any US government issued form of ID with a picture. This includes Driver's Licenses.

Or just see Niagra Falls from the American side!! Just as good--perhaps better. Be sure to take the boatride (Maid of the Mist) under the falls--it's really something!
