I flew to Canada last year, seven hour flight. Keep flexing your feet, take your shoes off, where those horrible flight socks (yes they do help) and walk to the toilet a lot, whether you need to go or not. Enjoy your flight! The sight of the ice floes as we flew over the Canadian coast was something I'll never forget.

Go to your local chemist or doctor and ask about taking asprin for 2 days before the flight and two days after. we were recommended by the Dr. to do this has we travel long distance a lot. Also do all the other things recommened such as walking round on the plane wearing flight socks drink plenty of water and take your shoes off.

Don't stay in your seat all the way!

You need to get up and stretch, maybe walk to the toilet cubicle and back, or some simple stretching exercises in the isleway?

Not sure what the flight time to Canada is, but if you do move about, you shouldn't have any problems.

If you do have poor circulation in your lower body, then it may be worth discussing with your doctor before you fly. Your Doctor may wish to prescribe some form of anticoagulant, to prevent clots from forming. these drugs should only be used for a short period of time.

Fly Safe!

I remember my first visit, it was in 1978 and nobody wanted to get off the plane. The drinks came whenever you wanted one people were friendly, the pilot actually threatened to kick a couple off, they were fetching their own drinks and were really drunk. an elderly lady was asked if she needed a wheelchair to take her off the plane as she was finding it hard to walk (drink). Just thought I would share this with you.
And DVT wasn't even thought about, but you can get special socks from Boots.
