Your asthma is not Canada's fault. This government's failure to help you is. Your wife being killed by a hit and run is tragic, but again, it is not Canada's fault. Your oldest child's suicide and your younger child running away (although very tragic as well & I am sorry for all of your loss) is also not Canada's fault.
If this is how you are being treated by the government (and it doesn't surprise me), then the government needs to be improved. If you have done all that you can, then you should bring your story to the attention of the media, so that they can inform the rest of the country of what their government is capable of doing. If they know, there will be plenty of outraged citizens forcing the government to not only help you, but to change its policies.
They are hiding what they are doing to you, and by not speaking up to a large audience, you are letting them do it. |

WHAT THE HELL???? i get the feeling that the asker and those of you answering with your poor me stories.....probably always have felt that everyone owes you something!!! canada is a wonderful country and has much to offer....but you have to put forth some work on your end, truthfulness and some pride into yourself......the asker and those of you answering so far leave me with a bad taste in my mouth and have me believing that you might do all you could to get that "free ride".....i am very sorry for all your loss with family, no one deserves to have so much tragedy.....but we all have a story, don't we? |

"On May 15, 2008, the California Supreme Court rules that same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry. By November 3rd, more than 18,000 same-sex couples have married. On November 4th, California voters approved a ban on same-sex marriage called Proposition 8. The attorney general of California, Jerry Brown, asked the state's Supreme Court to review the constitutionality of Proposition 8. The ban throws into question the validity of the more than 18,000 marriages already performed, but Attorney General Brown reiterated in a news release that he believed the same-sex marriages performed in CA before November 4th should remain valid.
November 4, 2008, voters in California, Arizona, and Florida approved the passage of measures that ban same-sex marriage. Arkansas passed a measure intended to bar gay men and lesbians from adopting children."
Land of the Free, eh? Rather ridiculous, a country claiming to be free, continually denies basic human rights to a sizable chunk of its population. LAUGHABLE. Won't take me long to find some condemning articles about the disgusting state of health care in the US either, if you would like some of those as well.
Still Proud??
*If you truly are Canadian, then you should feel blessed that you enjoy as many freedoms as you do, don't live in fear of war in your streets and have access to decent health care. Instead, you spend all your time here, trying your best to insult your countrymen. A true Canadian wouldn't do that. We have many things to be thankful for in this country. Consider yourself to be lucky. And if you don't and would rather seek "greener" pastures, I doubt, with your attitude, that anyone will try and stop you. |

You're not the only one. :) I'm in a similar situation myself. I am currently out of work (personal reasons) and my government won't help me. I have had no money at all since last July. I am going to rely on my Tax Rebate to tide me over while I continue to apply for jobs. So please can you be more nice when answering other people's questions as you don't know their full story? Please refer to my question "What I.D do I need do I need to cash a cheque at the Money Shop or somewhere similar?" Thankyou. |
