Vancouver has Stanley Park, Montreal has Mount Royal, Toronto has the Toronto Islands. What does Calgary have?

The Rockies are in the distance, but does Calgary actually care about anything natural within it's city?

I didn't think so.

Fish Creek is one of the largest provincial parks within a city in Canada.

Nose Creek is THE largest municipal park in Canada.

Stanley Park is a beautiful park in the middle of Calgary where people can go rafting down the river or kids can play in the shallows. Many things to do and see there.

The Inglewood Bird Sanctuary is a huge park dedicated to birds. We love walking through there in the spring and fall, watching all the different birds coming and going. Not to mention deer.

Weaselhead Flats is a great place to watch deer, moose and sometimes bear roam through. It's right next door to Glenmore Park which is a huge park.

Then of course there is Devonian Gardens. A beautiful indoor garden located in downtown Calgary at the top of TD Canada Square. We love to spend winter days in the gorgeous park.

You must not know too much about Calgary if you think there aren't any natural settings within the city limits. Hopefully if you have a chance you will explore these and many other parks which are here.

Calgary has the beautiful Bow and Elbow Rivers with some of the best trout fishing anywhere. It is one of the few cities that you can hear the coyotes howling in the night depending where you are. It has the great Canada Olympic Park. It has one of the best biking trails ever.
