WHY are most Canadians friendlier than Americans?

Which of these factors attributes the most to that?

A) The influence of Canadian public policies and Canadian media nourishing the souls of Canadians? (CBC for example and CTV, and influence of NHL and Calgary Stampede)

B) Immigrants to Canada over the years who have seeked entry and applied for Canadian citizenship did so because they PERCEIVED Canada as a kind place and so each immigrant made the Canadian perception come TRUE by being who they are and assimilating that characteristic with a Canadian awareness? (Don't you like this hypothesis?) - some of these would be the Vietnam draft dodgers who came up to BC in the 1970s. But also all the multicultural Canadians.

C) Canadians as a people from the bottom-up shape their policy, [the opposite of A)], and these Canadians mutually agreed to stir their policies in a different direction from USA, USA being the model for "what will happen to us if we mess up here and there?" (Iraq war for example, duh)

D) A combination of all of the above?

E) Other, or a critique of how much weight should be placed on A) B) and C)????

F) It's NOT true Canadians are friendlier and I'm just drugged and stupid.

This "nobody likes Canadians" answer is sickening. Canada only allows EVERY American plane to land on their soil whenever the USA is in trouble. They are fighting OUR war against the Taliban as we speak, (very nice -being sarcastic) of you to go put them down.

we just have a completely different history in Canada, our country was shaped by different events, the US slaughtered the native Indians while Canada negotiated with the natives and Canada did not fight one single Indian war, the US was born out of a revolutionary war with England, Canada had it's constitution patriated by Royal assent in a peaceful manner, the different history has shaped the cultures in different ways, Americans are fearful and paranoid and carry guns, Canada has strict gun laws...the US is just a much tougher, grimier type of society..I really wouldn't expect Americans to like us, we're just too different from them...

Because we are Canadians

u r dumb
as a Canadian I would say Jake.jack gaved the best answer. It all has to do with our history .

Necromancer
This reminds me of the Michael Moore movie about gun crime in which he pointed out that that crime is lower in Canada than the US. And I thought it made sense until I read the National Post which pointed out that all of the states bordering Canada have crime rates similar to Canada except for New York and Michigan.

So I think it comes down to population density. When you're packed in like a can of New Brunswick sardines the way we are now of course people are going to behave in a less than friendly manner. Look at all the New Yorkers who moved to Nfld after 9/11.
