I believe that Canada, like Australia, operates a points system, ie you complete a form with details of education, qualifications, work experience, age etc of any dependents and so on.
Everything is given some points. eg 30 years old = 2 points, 60 years old = 0 points (that is purely hypothetical).
If you end up with the required number of points, Bingo!

I'm in the processes of emigrating to Canada, i live in England at the minute but was born in Canada so I'm sponsoring my common law fiance, I found the web site www.cic.gc.ca very useful it tells you all you need to know and how long it could take, good luck with it all,,

My husband flew out to Winnipeg yesterday and me,the boys and animals are flying out in 2 weeks,we went through PNP it was a fast track way of doing it. your best bet would be to look on the cic website, plenty of info on there.Best of luck to you all.

I am a Canadian... only one request... lol....

PRETTTTY please let us continue to celebrate our holidays.... I am honestly VERY sad that more and more people are choosing to come here and are making US change the way we live... our kids cant celebrate ANY holidays at school nor can they say the lords prayer... it is sad... terribly sad...

I could never imagine moving to a foreign country and just assuming they will change for me *sniffle*

Best of luck =)

The wife and I took the plunge 40 years ago and we have never, never looked back. This is the best country in the world man, you are talking size, diversity, great cities, humongous lakes and rivers, trees reaching into the sky, mountains to ski, hike, bike, lakes to kayak, oceans to kayak, sail and boat. You want a play land? It's all here and it does not matter where you go although we choose British Columbia and as far as I am concerned that's the best of the best.

I dont know any one who has done it, but my advice to you is go for it. The opportunities your kids will have will be fantastic. Lets face it there's not much future in this country is there the way the crime rate is soaring. I would jump at the chance.
