Lol @ the one above me... yes, my pet polar bear seems to like the cold very much, he's pretty contented of eating off fishes =D

what's winter like in Canada? Its the same as any winter, where there is ice on the ground and windchill = cold

It depends on where you are coming from. Montreal's weather is similar to that of New York and Boston. The average temperatures for Feb. are usually between -3 and -14 Celsius (about 10 - 30 degrees Farenheit). There will always be a few days that are a bit higher than those and there can be a few that are much colder too. There will be lots of snowy days. If you are dressed appropriately, walking around can be done with relative ease. Be sure you have a good winter coat, snow pants (or at least heavy pants and long underwear) a ski hat and mittens( much warmer than gloves) as well as a pair of warm boots and you will be fine.

It's pretty darn cold... and you must watch out for the polar bears and sled dog teams too coming through the streets. Pretty darn dangerous eh...

i live in alberta so we get chinooks quite often that means warm wind so it can go from -18 C to over 2to 4 C in about 24 hrs and i hate snow as well When it gets to -30 to -40 with wind chill no it is not like walking in a cool room it is like sitting in a deep freeze .

Like most have said, it depends where in Canada.

In Saskatchewan last week we reached -35 C, -52 C with the wind chill (and that was during the morning). I don't know any cool room that gets that cold.

Take a look at this, it tells you how long it takes to get frostbite.

Today was like that, but snow is coming at 1am, and I hate shoveling snow (Toronto, Ontario)

Vancouver winters are typically very mild. Since Vancouver is on the west coast just a few hours north of Seattle, it doesn't get too cold or too hot thanks to the ocean. You'll see snow a couple times in a year, but most of all, you'll get lots of rain! In January 2006, it rained 27 out of the 31 days that month! Because of the humidity level, it's the kind of rain that chills you to the bone. Though it's worth it when the summer comes around and everything is still green!
