You won't find it in Toronto. In fact, you're better off moving to the northern suburbs of Toronto. I've lived here for almost 20 years and this place is just falling apart at the seams. You might want to try Newmarket, Ontario and surrounding towns. It's just an hour's drive north of Toronto, and the rent there is much cheaper. The employment rate per capita is about the same as the city so you won't have problems finding a job either. |

There are a variety of motels on Kingston Rd that have weekly rates. We stayed at one for about a month for about $250/week. Yes, the motels are kind of seedy, and I had one middle-of-the-night listening experience with a very vocal hooker in the room next to me, but overall, it's a bed and a shower (and some even have kitchenettes)--what more do you need? Just don't leave any valuables in your car. |

Toronto is stupidly expensive. In Toronto, "cheap" and "decent" are mutually exclusive terms.
You'd be better off in Hamilton, where there is good work and very cheap rent. Just don't live downtown as it's a little sketchy. |
