If you mean that you are of East Indian extraction, you might find Vancouver to your liking. There are East Indian people here of all kinds--some whose ancestors came here over 100 years ago, some who arrived directly from India more recently, some who came by way of Africa and other places. You will have no trouble buying traditional foods and clothing in Vancouver. And Vancouver has much less snow than Toronto though it rains a lot in winter.
Education for younger children will be similar in both cities. Ontario has more universities but BC has a few with good reputations. I think establishing a retail business would be similar in both cities. |

Well, both cities offer plenty.
Personally, I'd choose Vancouver but, have to say, Toronto has also many good points. |

Before you can even consider which city to go to, you have to find out if you are eligible for immigration status. It is very difficult to get into Canada. They are very thorough with their background search. You have to verify your education, finances, marital status and criminal records with all kinds of papers and letters. You then have to find a job on-line with a company that will sponsor into Canada. You can't just show up in the country with no job or money. |

I heard it's pretty hard to live in Toronto with the high rent etc.. and I would say Vancouver is the same (my siblings live there). There are soo many people who live in both meccas, and therefore alot of competition especially if you want to set up a business.
Have you considered a small town (at least for the business part), or maybe even Calgary (that's where I live). There are lots of jobs here, people from all throughout Canada come to this city to find work. And we have 3 (main) post-secondary institutions |

Before you decide what city to move to, you will need to know if you can qualify to come here. Our immigration is very strict and it is both difficult and expensive to move to Canada.
I would advise you to examine this site BEFORE you ask about what city would be better. http://www.cic.gc.ca |
