(1) Make sure you bring warm winter clothing. Brrrr...it can get pretty cold in the winter.

(2) Check out thoroughly where you want to settle. Canada is a big place and there are jobs to be had from coast to coast.

Any ideas where you want to go?

Good luck on the move & welcome to Canada!

Make sure your absolutely finicially ready, and make sure all of your international-changing nations paperwork is done, so you dont run into any problems.

Also lol, incase you haven't yet. Finding a job there is important especially if you know the area you are moving to.

Oh and get any vacinations or shots you may need before you move there, you don't wanna catch somthing.

Have fun, I cant wait to move out of country, I am thinking about Ireland.

Know-it-all
Very simple, thousands of people have done this before you, and thousands will do it after you. Some with money, some without. Some with family, some without. So my advise is simple, DO NOT WORRY. The process is fairly simple and if you are fluent in english, you shall not have a problem. Second advise is BE PATIENT. Canada is an immigrant nation because there are opportunities for everyone. However, sometimes this takes time. Many come to Canada expecting royal treatment and roads paved in gold. You will have to work for it, but opportunities abound.

A friend of mine immigrated from the UK, and he said the biggest shock was that he hadn't expected there to be any communication difficulties. However, even though we speak English in both countries, our sense of humour is different. He said he noticed a lot of people didn't know how to respond to him. Some people got offended when he was joking, or laughed at him when he was being serious. Just be aware that there will be subtle differences in communication styles that you probably won't be expecting.

Welcome to Canada. I hope you love it.

Depending on where you're going to settle, bring winter clothing, unless of course, you're settling in on the west coast, then bring an umbrella, a rain jacket and rubber boots!! And don't be afraid to ask questions from the locals. Most are pretty friendly!! Welcome to Canada, Eh!!

1) Bring a warm coat and a toque
2) Know where you are going to be living and working before you get over here.

fatsausage
