What's it like to live in Toronto? In Canada?

Honest answers please? Vent, praise, elaborate, please?

I have relatives in Toronto and Montreal...they're Guyanese East Indian. I hear the job situation is terrible. They live in Brampton/Missisauga. It seems like people are really nice there though, and intelligent. I'm just wondering what it's really like.

I know the Toronto Area well, and in particular the Brampton Area, because I have lots of realtives there. I was in that area for university, but I'm from the west. I have an outsider's perspective. So let me just sum things up.
Toronto is a large city like any other. The surroundings are bland and flat, not particularly inspiring. People are in a rush, and nobody walks around with a smile on their face. Torontonians are noted country-wide as being arrogant ***** and this has earned them the fecicious nickname of being "the centre of the universe", because that's how Torontonians act.
You have to drive 30 minutes to get anywhere or do anything, because the city is so sprawled out and traffic is attrocious. Ethnic groups are seperated and do not talk with each other. There is increasing gun violence. The winters are windy, grey, slushy and depressing, then it suddenly gets hot and muggy. Toronto has the most smog adivsory days in Canada. There are so many people of visible minorities that whites take ethnic people for granted and never give them decent jobs. Toronto is NOT Canada. It is a part of Canada trying to immitate the states. I call it the "armpit of Canada". Save your time and money and move somewhere better out west or up north. If Toronto didn't have Canada's Wonderland it would have NOTHING going for it!

I live in Waterloo, 1 hour south. Toronto is a big city, the biggest in Canada. It's alright. It's very multicultural. There are parts of it that are really nice, other parts that aren't so much. The transit system is really good. Subways, street cars (though don't get on the street cars), buses - they can get you wherever you need to go. It's pretty clean. There are a lot of homeless people, more than in all of New York City, but they don't really attack you any more than they would in any other city. There is a lot of construction. Condo skyscrapers going up everywhere. It has a really good art/entertainment industry. With CHUM headquarters, It's own "broadway" and a major movie festival. It has a major international airport as well as a few smaller ones. There's a ferry that goes to Rochester, NY. The Weather is usually nice. Great Lakes Region type of weather. Lake Ontario is - well, not the cleanest, but it's getting cleaner. I don't know, it's really expensive to live in, depending on where.. that is, but if you can afford it, then why not! Toronto's a great city with a positive outlook.

You could also live in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) - it's cheaper and there are ways of commuting in. There are a lot of people who commute from Waterloo! You should live in Waterloo!!!!!!
