On the Canadian side, u would think u were in US. It is just so full of commercialism!!! They even have a casino there!!! The US side is a state park, very nice, really is the place to enjoy the magnificence of the nature. And u get much closer to the falls on the US side. The journey behind the fall is on the Canadian side. But as Nikkie said, it's pretty underwhelming. A better one will be Cave of the wind on the US side. That will take u as close as one can to the Fall. If u want to have some photo op, in which the fall is in the background, u have to go to Canadian side though. But if u don't drive, just walk, it's very easy to go back and forth between the two sides. |

more activities on the Canadian side, the caves are on the Canadian side, but quite boring, they are just long hallways with a tiny window at the end that you can see water pouring out of. There is a deck but the Maid of the Mist gets closer than the deck does. And to get down you will be waiting at least an hour. However, there is maid of the Mist, the Canadian Side has a better view of both the horsehoe falls (the famous ones) and the much smaller american falls. there is also clifton hill (many many fun attractions) the Skylon Tower, or the Minolta Tower (both give spectacular views of the falls.) And at the Table rock (right beside the falls on the Canadian side) there is a brand new attraction called "Niagara Fury" its this very cool 3d-action film about how the falls formed. When they talk about winter, the room gets cold, when they talk about rocks falling, the room shakes. its a very neat thing to try. You are also very near to Niagara on the Lake with a couple nice attractions and some great wineries.
Good luck and if you need anymore information feel free to contact me |

The US side, is much more serene, while the Canadian side has many activities. There are arcades, diners, resteraunts, I think they might have a hard rock cafe, better scenic views, caves, gift shops, the butterfly museum. It's a very nice environment for tourists, and the people are friendly. It's a generally clean area. But of course with many people comes litter. In all both sides are good, but Canadas side is better |

one side you pay for the gift shop in US money the other side you pay for with Canadian money. |

Just got back from Niagara....the Canadian side does have much more to do....however it is a tourist trap and beware the cost of everything in Canada is outrageous! I don't know how families can go there and spend money on anything, they will be broke! The American side has the pretty state park and much closer to the falls, Cave of the Winds was fun! By the way, Canadians are not friendly and I get the feeling, they don't like "Foreigners" over there. |
