Most don't even know what's the weather out here, they all think it's a bad climate. No it's not similar to the UK ofcourse Canada is more harder to live in but if your just an English bloke looking for a good life then start packing and trim that British accent into a English Canadian yes there's a difference between American accent and the Canadian one!

Yes ofcourse Quebec is like the tourist spot, just learn how to talk like you've never been to France.

In Vancouver, we've got the best weather in Canada. Our winters aren't too cold and our summers aren't too hot. Temperatures range from -3C in the winter (for roughly 2 days) to 30C in the summer.) In the winter, it rains a lot. Three years ago it rained for 52 consecutive days, but the weather is getting warmer.

In terms of general standards of living, we aren't as cramped as the UK. We have big houses, big cars, big roads, and big people. We're basically like the USA, just a smaller population....and we don't carry guns.

PS If you're an English dude wanting to move to Canada, you're most welcome to do so, but please leave behind your racism bit in the UK (I've been to England, I know what I'm talking about). Generally speaking, we're multicultural and live in harmony with people of all cultures.

Winter can be really cold and snowy but everyone gets used to it pretty quick. Most of us don't like the big snowstorms though.
The summers are much hotter than in the UK too, which takes getting used to (depending where in Canada you go). Canada has extremes of temperature variations.

Well if you ski (cross country or downhill), you'll love it. In Quebec especially. Canadian winters tend to be long, dark, and cold. We're all used to it, and I guess sometimes we don't realize how much colder it can seem to non-Canadians (my friend from New York state was wearing her winter coat when the temperature hit 0 degrees Celsius last fall, little did she know what she was in for...). Once you get a good snowfall, the snow will stay for the season, and you can switch into "winter mode"...that is, wearing proper winter boots, jackets, and lots of layers. I find I'm coldest around late November, early December, the time usually right before the snow sticks around, because I try to convince myself that it's not winter yet, and walk around in running shoes, a sweater, and a vest.

If you have a driveway, snow shoveling can be a huge pain, especially after a really big blizzard, but otherwise it's not a big deal. It's also a good workout.

One thing that a few people have mentioned is that temperatures vary a lot. I live in Ottawa, which is right beside Quebec, and our winters can get pretty cold (not as bad as Winnipeg, mind you). Also if you live in a windy town/city, the windchill can add a pretty fierce bite. Summers in Ottawa can have monthly averages as high as 30 degrees Celsius (though it was cooler this year). As with the wind, if you live near a body of water, humidity can be a killer (not an ocean though, it tends to be cooler there). Summers in Western Canada can be way more comfortable if only for the fact that they're so much drier.
