Hello

I don't live in Vancouver, but I found sites what people do during Christmas. |

Yes, there are great Christmas lights at Vandussen (don't know how exactly to spell that) gardens on Oak st. I always used to go with my family when I was growing up and we'd get roasted chestnuts and walk around all the lights, etc. I haven't been in a few years but when I was younger I was just amazed.
There's also a Stanley Park Christmas train. I think. Usually at Christmas time I'm hitting the local mountains to go boarding though why don't you take up a winter sport? Even just to go tobogganing?
Also, I'm not sure which paper it is... maybe the sun? But one of them puts out a list of the houses around the lower mainland that have the best Xmas lights.
Hope that helps. |

Up at Grouse Mountain, you can enjoy snowshoeing, ice skating, take a sleigh ride. I haven't gone, always been meaning to go. I've had other friends and they LOVED it!
Bright lights in Stanley park. It's great, it's all lit up and if you have kids there's a train ride you can take at night. To enter the park, it's by donation for the Firefighters to raise money for burn victims.
Van Dusen Botanical Garden Festival of Lights. It's a beautiful garden in the middle of the city and at Christmas time they have it all light up. It's quite spectacular.
Carol Ships Parade of lights. They have all of these boats decorated with Christmas lights. Very beautiful and romantic.
There's lots to do. Enjoy your visit.
When you get to town, you should get the free local paper called The Georgia Strait. It always has events happening for the week and what not, or get it online. |
