What University is the best University in Canada?

The "top" Canadian universities are UBC (British Columbia), University of Toronto (Ontario), Queen's University (Ontario), University of Western Ontario (Ontario), McGill University (Quebec), University of Laval (Quebec), and Dalhousie University (Nova Scotia). Of course there are many universities that offer similar programs which are more reputable than those offered by the ones mentioned above (i.e. Engineering Program at University of Waterloo, Schulich School of Business and Osgoode Law School at York University), but essentially these 7 would be considered sort of our "ivy league schools." A degree from any one of these in any discipline is well-respected.

The best universities in Canada are those that require a very high entrance level in high school or senior school marks. McGill in Montreal requires an 88% score as does U of Toronto, and others slightly lower, Queens an 80 % etc.

The University of Waterloo is our MIT, there is no degree more valuable in canada then a degree in enginering from the university of waterloo

Why do you want to go to Canada or are you Canadian or are you American who is just curious.

Kain Nero
Well it depends what you are looking for program wise but usually the top raters are: Queens University, University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, and University of Western Ontario

CanProf
Because it has so much more money than any of the others the University of Toronto is the only Canadian university on par with the top tier of US schools. But "best" is both subjective and general. Specific programmes at specific universities can better be compared to one and other.
