Well, I am Canadian, and I think we are pretty nice people, LOL.

We do have a reputation for being very friendly ( of couse not everyone can be spoken for), but they also probably find you intriguing because you are from such a beautiful and different country.

If you feel quite nervous or uncomfortable though, maybe you could try not chatting with them as much or at all...you have to trust your instincts, you can trust yourself far more thanothers, especially those you dont know.

i don't think people r all the same....what is Aus people like?(r they all the same?) I went to Admanton once they have some very nice people...or maybe because I didn't stay long enough to found out the bad part of them...

I agree with the person who said they are friendly, but more apologetic. I remember the word "Sorry" came out of Canadians mouths constantly! They use it in the same way Americans use excuse me or pardon me. Say you need to reach across someone in a grocery store to grab some food. Where I would say "pardon me" or "excuse me" as I reached, Canadians would say "sorry". I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but I found it indicative of a trait to overly accept a sense of blame for things. I guess that's polite to some, but I found it kind of unnecessary.

Canadians are generally a friendly bunch, but I don't think that is the reason why they want to get close to you.

We tend to be more apologetic than polite; you could do anything to us and we will always say we're sorry, even if it's our own fault.

How's about that, eh?

cziizi
we're generally a pretty friendly bunch. brew a good beer too!

We're generally nice. We like making friends. I know alot of Australians and you're very similar to Canadians from personal experience. I think Canadinas are just friendly.

I've noticed the same exact thing! I am from the Russian Federation, and it seems that every time I go somewhere, some girl tries to speak with me! I think that Canadians are just more liberal about this. Also, whenever I go anywhere even with my fiance along, they all come and talk to me. They ignore the fact that I am obviously involved. It must be a cultural difference.

Most of them are very friendly.. because they came from different races.. I don't feel strangers to them. they would come to me and make me feel comfortable by telling me that I don't have to be stranger in their country because they value where too they originally came from.. most of them are immigrants... Canadian parents with other races..
sometimes I have to tell them not all foreigners are friendly as they are,, they expect foreigners to do the same..
Some of them are foster parents of poor children around the world.. I don't know where you are and how old are you.. it might be they really like you...I have learned a lot from them, they are happy people and generous.. not all..but when you know them longer, it is like having family from other country..
I became a foster parent too.. it is nice to share what you have learned..
good day!

Ben
They were nice when I went

sosta
quite friendly and completely anti-racist...i lived happily amongst them for four years

Hippie
umm we r nice and we have great beer so ya no they might just be a bit drunk

Don't you watch South Park? They are a very strange people with very round heads that seperate from their bodies, above the Jaw, compleatly, when they talk. They have very funny accents and a bad sense of direction. They have a news station where their broadcasters wear no clothes. (TRUE)lol. Anyway this is how they are depicted on South Park. But seriously, I have been to canada on several ocassions for fishing and relaxation and I find that Canadian people are just like everyone else. Westerners, Americans, persay. People everywhere are the same I guess. For the most part anyway. We wake up, go to work, have dinner with the family. That's why I don't understand why we all can't just get along..
