You could buy a barrell, seal yourself inside it and ride over the falls....Whoohoo!

The Welland Canal, most wineries offer tours, Port Dalhousie Carousel (still a nickel), Grape and wine Festival in St. Catharines in September....lots of stuff.....

If you want to venture the 20 miles or so down to Buffalo, I can reccommend the Anchor Bar on Main St. (Home of the original Buffalo Wing). There's also a Frank Lloyd Wright exhibition going on in town. If you want to check out an old frontier fort, head to Fort Niagra. If you want a really charming lake side town, visit Niagra on the Lake.

Niagara on the Lake is a great place for a family visit: http://www.niagaraonthelake.com/
It's beautiful, there's good shopping, some restaurants, etc.
When you're in the area, you "must" visit!

take a drive up to Niagara on the Lake, a beautiful village that's worth a side trip.

there are a series of old historic forts on both sides off the border.

there's some kind of butterfly farm, too.

Fallsview Casino, Mama Mia's on victoria, clifton hill, the Maid of the mist is great but its shut down for the season. Niagara on the lake is nice this time of year and a nice little drive. If you can afford it try The Great Wolf lodge its great for kids and has an indoor water park. there is a nice little green house south of the falls. THe gondola to see the whirlpool is interesting as well. THere is nice little restaurant great for breakfast and good prices downtown called the High Lite. Fireworks every Friday at 10PM at the falls and the Festival of lights starts soon but not sure when. If your looking for adult entertainment go west on Lundy's lane

Butterfly World, Fallsway Casino, Maid of the Mist. And you have to go to that very special Italian restaurant. Ask at the Hilton, they'll know. It is in walking distance. Also take the wine region tour with free tastings and excellent wine.
