A must see is the Butchart Gardens, once a rock quarry and now a beautiful garden. Another fun place to see is the Fabled Cottage. Also check out SeaWorld . The number one thing to do in Victoria is have high tea at the Empress Hotel!
Victoria's downtown shopping area is beautiful with cobbled streets and wrought iron lamposts with hanging flower baskets. You'll notice lots of stores with a british influence. My favorite is Murchie's Tea and Coffee. Their products are fabulous and make great gifts or souveniers.
There is a small, unpretentious fish and chip shop on a side street in the downtown area. I'm afraid I can't remember the name of it but you shouldn't have too much trouble getting directions from a local. The restaurant is noted in "Places to eat in Canada". They give you a choice of what kind of fish you'd like. For a true west coast experience, you should order the halibut. It is the best! |

Put a good chunk of money aside to have tea at the Empress. Go to Butchart gardens. |

I went to Victoria, BC last year and it was fun. They have the Parliamentary building, National geographic museum and IMAX in it, they have wax museum (it was fun), very interesting lights at night. In front of the Parliamentary building they have shows there doing stunts and magic stuff last they have Fishermans Wharf. They have a mall too and china town. Most of these are walking distance. Victoria is a very small place.
Oh before I forget you may want to visit the castles there Craigdarroch (If my spelling is correct). They have Buchart Gardens but you have to drive to get there but it's not too far. |

the vegatarian restaurant is called Green Cuisine I think. Victoria is a beautiful city, livd there 3 years, and visit frequently. Lots of shopping, walking through shops and Chinatown, a few good malls and friendly people. |

Victoria is one of our favorite little cities, and very walkable. Lots of good restaurants but whereas we are not veggies I leave it to other Answerers to recommend. But most good restaurants nowadays have veggie selections. What you should most look forward to however is to enjoy whatever you eat with the outstanding B.C. wines, most of which are not exported. Some are among the best in the world - especially the pinot grigio. |

I live in Victoria soo....
There's a popular Vegetarian restaurant in Market Square, that's in downtown...you'll have no trouble finding it. The name slips my mind but its on the bottom floor.
My favorite resaurant downtown is Ferris's Oyster Bar (not just oysters), and Fifth Street Bar and Grill. Both have vegetarian choiches. There are tons of restaurants downtown, but most cater to tourist so you'll pay a lot. I'd avoid those on Wharf Street, they are good, but way overpriced.
I'm not sure where you live, but if it's not near here, I suggest you go whale watching, it is tons of fun, there are many places to pick from. They are all located along the harbour downtown. |
