Well... how small?
Strasbourg, Saskatchewan is a wonderful little place, but it has very, very few people. Not quite as small as Dog River, but along those lines.
Regina's a lot bigger, with about 200,000 people. It's a pretty nice, simple city. I really like it there.
If you want to stay in Ontario, try Thunder Bay. It's absolutely beautiful there during the summer, and it has about 100,000 people.
Windsor, Ontario, is a lot closer to Toronto, and has about 220,000 people. It's also right across the river from Detroit, whether you consider that a positive or a negative. |

omg Niagara on the lake is the most beautiful area of Canada I have ever been in. A little more expensive, but im sure the outskirts aren't so bad. It is absolutely beautiful and is so so safe. It is about half an hour away from the actual Niagara falls, but you would never guess. |

elliot lake is beautiful. i grew up there. the views are amazing and there are groomed trails, beaches, hiking trails and all kinds of outdoorsy stuff to do there. it's mostly retired people living there now though. |
