What are some of the attractions in the plains region of Canada?

There's plenty to do depending on what you enjoy. Check out all the beautiful national and provincial parks, sail on Lake Winnipeg and look for Manipogo. Fish on hundreds of lakes, check out the small towns and their festivals. I recommend the Corn and Apple Festival in Morden, Manitoba. Go to the Cypress Hills in Saskatchewan, river tubing in Russell Manitoba, or go to a U-pick farm and pick your own fresh fruits and vegetables. Camp near West Hawk Lake in the Whiteshell, check out the International Peace Gardens, check out Moose Mountain Provincial Park, Temple Gardens Spa in Moose Jaw and Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site. Winnipeg alone has plenty to do and see if you like theatre, entertainment and recreation. There will always be something to do to keep you busy and it is far from boring.

Saskatchewan has lots of things to see if you can see beyond the "flat". On my list, I'd have;

Town of Roleau (home of Corner Gas)
Cyprus Hills (highest point between the Rockies and Ontario)
The Great Sandhills (near Leader) a desert-like environment
Herschel Museum (home of Native carving in rocks)
World Bunnock Championship in Macklin - August long weekend

Every community has something neat to see, depending on what your interest is. Come for a visit and stay awhile.

Enjoy the rolling countryside of the Canadian prairies. It's the most restful place to visit.

Try and take in some of the historical features, and visit some small towns.

i live in Edmonton, Alberta...
and i'd advise you NOT to come here.

hahaha.. its pretty much boring and nothing to do... it's sad because we're a capital city and still we have nothing.
anyways...
if you MUST come.. haha (waste of time ..)
you could go to WEM (West Edmonton Mall) in Edmonton, it's the biggest (or second biggest.. i heard they built a bigger mall in japan recently) mall in the world. but it's not that exciting. it has... a nice waterpark, amusement park, laser quest, etc, plus a lot of shops in it.
if you come in the summer, there's Heritage festivals (i believe in august), which is this HUGE event at a huge park.
Basically, it's a whole bunch of countries from around the world showing their culture- they have huge stands and you can buy cultural food, watch cultural dancing, or whatever else the culture people have prepared. i guess it's pretty fun. especially the food haha i'd say theres more than 300 countries... yeh its a REALY big park.

hm.. theres also k-days which is basically a festival over the sumer.. u can go on rides, the usual stuff.

but you really shouldnt come here- go to BC. vancouver is 100 times better lol.
