What are some reaons someone would NOT want to go to Canada?

I'm living and travelling abroad, and people have asked me if I can help them get into Canada when they learn I am Canadian. Do I look like Immigration Canada?
What true things can I say about Canada, Canadians, the Canadian way, etc. that may shed a different perspective on Canada?
For example, temperatures in Canada can reach -40 or colder!
Personal income tax in Canada is approximately 30%
It is customary to tip in Canada.
Cost of living
Over-use of taser
You must wear a seatbelt
Any other wild/wacky facts, etc.
Additional Details
Some of our safety laws, such as wearing a seatbelt seem un-necessary to some. Bike helmets and hard hats are another example of this. Canadians are very safety-conscious, whereas other cultures do not always place as much emphasis on safety.

You must wear a seatbelt... are you for real? How is this a reason a person wouldn't want to come to Canada? Oh, yes, you must wear a seatbelt in case of accident. The alternative is you become a streak of street pizza as that Mack truck barrels into you at 100 kph. Yeah, that seatbelt sure is a real deterrent. Those Canadians are f***ing nuts!

It's too close to the States.

That wacky seatbelt rule would keep me out of any country! Are you serious? Yes, personal income tax is high, but it comes with free health care. Check out the cost of living in most European countries if you think ours is high. I remember stewing beef in Switzerland costing somewhere around $30 per kg.

My guess is since the Canadian government requires that overseas visitors are refered by a Canadian citizen holding permanent status, this might be one reason ppl often ask you for help.
Besides, Canada is a great place to visit.
All the best

I don't know if the "must wear a seatbelt" will scare people away honestly since that's required in the US too. I moved from the States here to be with my husband and I find as far as temperature and climate the two places are very similar. Tax here is a little higher, but still not that bad. Cost of living depending on where, is much like back home also. You pay a lot less for a nice house than I would at home, but you pay more for food and clothes so it pretty much evens out.
Just tell them that Canada is one of four countries that still hunt seals for their fur. That would scare a lot of people away.

Print out the following website and make many copies to give people when they ask about Canada. Less of a hassle for you, then.
