Vancouver aquarium and zoo (also know as stanley park). Talk a walk on the sea wall look at the zoo animals or go in the aquarium. Dinotown and the water slides.

Golden
I was in both places just last week. In whistler we saw the Gondola and lost lake. But rest of the time was spent doing adventure activities like ziptrekking, ATV or Bear tours, mountain biking, rafting etc. In vancouver we stayed closed to robson street(great place for shopping and just hanging out) and visited the Stanley Park(takes almost one day) and the Capiliano Susupension Bridge. Have a good time.

Okay heres some things you could do in Vancouver and Whistler

Vancouver:

like to go to granviel island it's free walk around and get some good food look at the water

* go to Kits beach, and English bay they are both free!

* go walk around Yale Town there are some really fun trendy shops.

*Robson Street Street boasts over 200 shops, cafés and services.

* go to the Vancouver Museum

* go to the aquarium

* take a walk around Stanley Park it soo beautiful there

* * Capilano Suspension Bridge is breathtakingly suspended 135 m (450 ft) across, 70 m (230 ft) above Capilano River. Cross over to Treetops Adventure & walk from one magnificent Douglas fir to another via 7 elevated suspension bridges, some reaching as high as 30 m (100 ft) above the forest floor.

Whistler:
you could take a drive up to Whistler it's about a two hour . take a hike up at Ancient Cedars Loop Trail it is a really beautiful trail it is a pretty easy hike. you also could go zip lining . for more info on whistler visit hellobc.com

You are going to have such a good time

Hope i helped.

Vancouver is a fascinating city to visit. Gastown is a must see and the steam operated clock. The public transportation is great. A day pass ($3 when we were there) allows you on and off buses all day and on and off water taxies all day. So that includes going over to Victoria if you wish. The longest we ever waited for a bus was 15 min. The cappuccino from the street vendors is terrific. Be sure to see (and cross if you dare), the Capilano suspension bridge. Awesome experience. See the referenced site below. Sorry, never been to
Whistler. Enjoy!

here are some tips and suggestions:

http://jotan23.blogspot.com/2008/06/weeklong-holiday-vacation-in-canada.html

go to Stanley Park!!!
you can hike, bike, just lay down on the grass, have picnic and basically, do just about anything there!!!!
the place is truly AMAZING!!!

There's the Brockton Point Lighthouse, Totem Poles and Prospect Point, where you could have a great view of the Lions Gate Bridge and Grouse Mountain from the top of Prospect Point.

You might also want to consider going to Cypress Mountain and watch the beautiful sunset from there. It's only 30 minutes away from the heart of downtown Vancouver.
It also offers one of the best ski resorts in town!!!

It'll aslo be fun to visit Gastown's Historical Steamclock, which was designed and built by Ray Saunders in 1977. It belches steam and hoots out the famous Westminster chimes "Big Ben" theme!!! i love it!!!

you could also spend a perfect day at Granville Island.
Granville Island lies below the Granville Street bridge. The public market has everything you need and the island also offers lots of places to dine.

You could also bring your dog and jog on the beach of Vancouver Downtown.
the beach is not good for swimming but it's really nice to see in Downtown.

You should also dine at THE EATERY... The Funkiest place for Japanese food indeed!
hehehe yum yum!!!

Walk around the structure of Canada Place to get a good panoramic view of the city!!!
fantastic!!!

Don't miss the Capilano Suspension bridge too!!!
It is said to be Vancouver's oldest tourist attraction, which was originally built in 1889.
It stretches 450 feet (137m) across and 230 feet (70m) above the Capilano River.

Go and visit the Lighthouse Park too, if you have more time.
It contains the largest uncut, coastal-elevation trees in the Lower Mainland, which a spectacular view!!! This is within a 10-minute walk of the parking lot.

Also, ride a ferry (about an hour and a half) going to Victoria Island to complete your Vancouver experience!
It is said to be the vacation capital of Canada.

Go to the Parliament building to have a good view of marina; then, have a tea break at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. It is one of Victoria's highlights, with its true British tradition and atmosphere!!!

Before going back to the city, have a soup and salad at Pagliacci's, which is very popular to the locals for is great pasta, desserts, and wonderful ambiance!!!
