It depends on where you are going in Canada. If you are heading west go to Alberta. Especially Banff and Jasper (go up the Jasper tramway..you won't regret it!); also the Columbia Ice Fields and Peyto Lake. If going Central Canada go to Ottawa and take a walking tour, if Quebec, go to the Museum of Civilization (about 20 min) from Ottawa. If in Quebec take a tour of Old Quebec City. If going out East, got to Cavendish beach in Prince Edward Island , Halifax Harbour and the boardwalk in Nova Scotia (everything from shopping to seeing glass blowing). And go to Cape Breton, Peggy's Cove and if you like nature, The Cabot Trail. If you like history you might like to visit historic villages, Kings Landing in New Brunswick, Fort Lousiburg in Nova Scotia etc. I recommend you try this website: http://www.canadatourism.ca/ to find out more about the places in Canada and this website: http://www.canadiantravelguide.net/ to find out what there is to do in Canada, as everything else if my personal opinion of what I've enjoyed seeing in Canada. Also in the summer is The Calgary Stampede in July (it is awesome!!!!) and the Montreal Jazz Festival in July, Canada Day celebrations everywhere on July 1!!!
Enjoy your trip! |

BOY!! What do you like??? Their are several cruise ships that go up the western coast, the Rockies are nothing short of breathtaking, The prairies in blossom are a wonderfull sight. There's the West Edmonton Mall, supposedly the biggest in the world, Calgary Zoo, Lots of fishing all over the place,Decide what activities you want to do, and choose a spot. Just leave your guns at home. |

That time period is the best to see the entire country. There are magnificent scenery and events/festivals that everyone will enjoy. Depending on the time frame that is available to you you will have to consider how much of the country you can cover. My advice is to tour the maritimes and learn about our great history and experience the culture and scenery. |

As far as Western Canada goes, you have to see the Rocky Mountains. Banff, Alberta is beautiful and anyone there can give you great ideas for day hikes. Lake Louise is close by and beautiful too. Vancouver Island and the outer British Columbia islands (like Salt Springs Island) are gorgeous.
With all due respect, Saskatchewan and Manitoba can be missed.
On the other side of the country (east) are the Maritimes. Nova Scotia is lovely and very friendly. A much slower pace than the west coast.
It depends on what you want - scenery or cosmopolitan life. Toronto and Montreal are places to visit if you want city life. |

In Western Canada(Alberta), you would have to see Jasper and Banff. They are mountain resort towns that are breathtaking all year round. And Calgary, which is one of the best cities in Canada, is very close to Banff. If you are out East, Montreal or Halifax are your best bet. There is nothing too special in Toronto or Vancouver. |
