Hi. Toronto has a population of around 4 million people. We are one of the most diverse places on the planet.....I have heard it said that we even have more nationalities living here than New York.
We have most of the same restaurant chains that you will find in the USA....Golden Griddle, McDonald's, Wendy's, Subway Etc. And we have plenty of food from around the world. You can enjoy far east cuisine on Spadina Ave. in China Town or Greek food on the Danforth. Trust me on this one......there is something for every taste!
We are the home of the tallest free standing structure (the CN Tower). There's the Royal Ontario Museum and the Art Gallery of Ontario. There is a thriving art scene and many galleries. You could check out the high end shopping in Yorkville or the alternate scene in Kensiington Market or Queen Street West. All Good!
There's clubs galore in the entertainment district or on Queen Street. And why not check out a concert at Massey Hall or The Roy Thompson Hall?
You are gonna have a great time! |

Obviously the people that posted before me are lame. It depends on what you like to do. Toronto is a diverse city with a GREAT nightlife. The food is similar to the US as are the people. Look online for things to do there, you will find something you would enjoy. |

Alright, you wanna come to Toronto right?! Anyways I've lived here my whole life and here's a list of what you'd expect:
- Somewhat great public transportation system
- Extremely diverse in culture
- Great nightlife
- So many different lifestyles to live by
- Excellent ethnic cuisines throughout the city
Here are some things you can do while you're here:
- Obviously visit the CN Tower, The Eaton Centre, Art Gallery Of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma, and The Harbourfront.
- If you're into science visit the Ontario Science Centre
- Visit ethnic neighbourhoods such as Chinatown on Spadina Avenue, or Greektown on the Danforth.
- Go see a Raptor or Leafs game during their seasons, or a Blue Jays game during the baseball season.
- If you're low on cash and you wanna see a hockey game, go watch a Toronto Marlies or St. Mike's Majors hockey game.
- Visit the PATH underground shopping complex; this complex can take you from on end of downtown to the other without having to take some form of transportation.
Here are some tips to help you get through your trip here:
- Take public transportation (TTC) as much as possible because it'll sometimes be hard for you to get to a certain place in the city if there is construction going on the roads. I noticed that there is plenty of construction throughout the city for the last little while so do take the TTC. Plus, you'll be surprised how many people do take the TTC because this system is really big, it's really reliable and efficient, and it can take you virtually anywhere in this city.
- Do visit the suburbs of Toronto as well like Scarborough in the east or Etobicoke in the west. You'll be surprised that there is a lot to do there, and they're just as diverse as the central part of the city.
- Just remember that all the "bad neighourhoods" or the "ghettos" usually have the word "Park", but not all of them do like St. Jamestown, Jane and Finch, and Malvern. If you go to any of these neighbourhoods be careful because we got American-style crime here and they usually occur in these neighbourhoods. Also, just like L.A. don't have any bandanas or du-rags that are in gang colours like red or blue; don't wear these in any part of the city period.
- If you've been partying and drinking all night, call a cab because they're 24 hours, or just go with a bunch of people and whoever seems to be sober should be the driver. The TTC service doesn't operate from 2:00 in the morning til 6:00 in the morning.
Enjoy your trip! |

lots to see and do.....
all you want to know about Toronto.
http://toronto.com
http://www.greatertoronto.worldweb.com
CN TOWER (tallest tower in the world)
YONGE STREET (longest street in the world)
THE PATH (longest underground mall in the world)
And if you can take a drive to Niagara Falls.....it's only 1 1/2 hour drive away. You should go there......
It is the most multicultural city in the world.
And you wil probably be able to try and eat a MORE diverse variety of food than the U.S. |
|

?
 |
um there are lots of things to do here depending on what you want to do. um...there are lots of people and yes we have every food the U.S. have |

Me!

Okay, so the second and third person have no idea what there talking about! We don't say aboot we say about and Toronto is very multicultural but most of the French people are in Quebec. This summer we had a couple of days which reached almost 50 degrees (122 Fahrenheit) with the humidity. I'm so sick of Americans being so ignorant about Canada!! (not all just a lot)
Sorry, Toronto has a great mix of everything, you will have a great time. If you like clubbing go to Richmond St.
Go to Wonderland!! |

Toronto is the most racially/culturally diverse city on Earth.
Just about every type of food is available. And lots of it. Just don't go to PizzaPizza for a slice. Overcharged for crap pizza.
Almost all American food is found in Toronto. There are a few chains missing, and it's not easy to find a Philly cheesesteak, but there's lots of other stuff.
There's lots to do. Almost any kind of music is supported by some venue or other. Anything that you want to do is in Toronto. |

Expect a lot of Torontonians...They love losing at sports, especially hockey, but are much like Americans in their culture, you can be shot just about anywhere if you are careless, like criticising Don Cherry or the CBC. Living on the streets is nice, except for being flipped over by snowplows. The food is good, except in restaurants. we have all the unhealthy stuff that you find in the USA except all the warning labels are in french.. |
|

What can't you do in Toronto...
It's one of the most diverse places in the whole world.
They eat/serve most of the same foods as the us, and serve alot more options when it comes to international and different cultured foods. |

Lots of Traffic, Lots of friendly people of all nationalities, and the cousine is international. |

Toronto, it beats any American city.... Very cool city, even better than New York, alot of stuff to do... |

the food tastes alot better, especially the meat because we do not use the same preservatives because most have been made illegal here due to toxic test results (not the meat, the preservatives) toronto is full of immigrants so it will definately be diverse but toronto is like canada's very own brooklyn or L.A. lucky for you its more like a aspen or springfield but with less street gangs and violence.......
p.s. you can do the same kind of stuff you do at home but in a different city........ go to wonderland. |
