Tobacco and alcohol are two items that are probably going to get you into hot water with Canada Border Services Agency.

When someone crosses the border, they are allowed to bring in only a limited supply of tobacco products and so many ounces of alcohol for "personal consumption". I would be very surprised if they allow you to simply send either of these items as a "gift" to someone. In fact, many of the Canadian brand cigarettes that are sold in USA have a plastic wrapper that has written on it "Not for sale in Canada".

Normally, these are treated as imported products, and the person receiving the package might have to pay applicable duty, taxes, and Canada Post handling fees on any parcel you send.

I have included a link to the page that I think would apply to your husband in this situation. If you are not sure, I would contact the Canada Border Services either by email or by phone and get confirmation. Their contact information is on the website.

You can not send Tobacco to Canada. That is one of the things you can not send over the border. It will be confiscated at the border. Same applies to Alcohol it is prohibited from being sent country to country

jim m

ezmeralda_glutz

It should be fine, but you will need to declare it at the post office and it will probably be opened by customs as it is crossing the border.

Check with your post office or courier company they will know the regulations

I'm sure when you go to ship it, they will let you know. I don't see why it would be a problem.

Good luck!
