You can go to Stanley Park, the Vancouver Aquarium is there. That is a really neat place to go. You can also search on google.ca and find a list of neat places to visit. =]

Yes, it's an easy trip between Whistler and Vancouver. Many people commute to work. There are dinner trains on special occasions, but not as a regular feature - but this will likely be something you will see in the future, as they have had this service in previous years but had to suspend it temporarily. You can ride a ski lift up the mountain, and take a camera with you - the views are spectacular.
You can also boat in Howe Sound, visit Britannia (a mining museum located half way between Whistler and Vancouver) and there are endless things to do in Vancouver, ranging from water activities to visiting the zoo, visiting Chinatown, visiting Science World, the Maritime Museum, or just enoying the beaches. Biking is really great in Vancouver, especially along the Kitsilano beach to UBC beach.

In June all our skiing, snowboarding and winter activities are pretty much over for the season. Whistler is a village that has shopping and entertainment year round, but be prepared it is very very expensive there. Vancouver is beautiful and has a great deal to offer any tourist. I suggest you try our SeaBus, which takes you from the waterfront in Vancouver across the ocean to North Vancouver. It is breathtaking! And hopefully our beautiful Stanley Park which suffered some damage from several wind storms this past winter will be open again to the public so you can stroll the sea wall. Enjoy your trip.

Whistler and Blackcomb village have become an all season resort, no longer known as just a ski destination. During the summer months you can hike, mountain bike, ride horses on trails, canoe, fly fish, roller blade, golf, etc. They also have some really high end restaurants and great specialty shops. Are you looking for a local train package? Rocky Mountaineer is currently in operation. BC Rail's dinner train is now defunct.

Yes, to both Whistler and Vancouver, you can take a ride up the mountains to just enjoy the view. In Vancouver I highly recommend taking the gondola up Grouse mountain on a clear evening, eat at their restaurant and enjoy the amazing panoramic view of the city of Vancouver and watch a spectacular sunset over the Gulf and Vancouver Islands.

well you don't have to go to whistler to get a great view, take a picnic lunch to stanley park, check out the vancouver aquarium, the planetarium,science world, go to the valley and see fort langley, take a trip out to harrison hotsprings or spend a day at the pacific national exhibition (p.n.e.) and playland which has a midway and stuff. you could make it to whistler and back in one day but why not stay the night?? there is also cultus lake if you are more interested in water. all of these things are in and around vancouver. thee is also capilano suspension bridge and lynn valley canyon. ahh i could go on and on.

why don't you do a search online to find out the activities available. if not, when you arrive there that day, there will be tons of brochures for you to see and decide what you wanna do.

It sounds like you would enjoy more urban activities than the great outdoors. The previous answers had covered most of the Whishler areas stuff. The train ride east bound to Banff is a leisurely ride with transfer but it's costly.
I believe you will have a much better time in Victoria, which is located on the Vancouver island. There is a good variety of activities on Vancouver island ranging from the tourist tour to the adventurist. Many of which are done on foot. See the official links below for details.

To sight see get a day pass on transit Vancouver has the second largest China town in North america. Grandville island is nice.Take the godola up to Grouse Mountain A free Imax show is worth the ride.
